About

Why Therapy? Therapy can assist in the navigation of life's inevitable challenges. It is a resource anchored in the belief that you can grow and heal, even in difficult times, when supported to do so. Research has shown that psychotherapy can improve emotional and psychological well-being and is linked with positive changes in the brain and body. Background Ann Gerber has clinical experience and in-depth training acquired across a variety of settings including mental health clinics, school settings, hospitals, traditional work settings (EAP), and private practice. She treats Anxiety and Depression in adults and teens. Ann has advanced training and certification in pregnancy and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders and specialization in parenting, life adjustments/transitions, work and team related challenges, and working with first responders and medical professionals. Over the years she has led trainings on various topics including: communication, effective stress management, procrastination and perfectionism, balancing demands of work and home, parenting, and informational webinars on perinatal mood and anxiety for expectant parents. Treatment Approach A variety of treatment approaches are utilized including traditional psychodynamic methods that explore the unconscious mind and unresolved conflicts, as well as evidence based treatment models such as CBT. Your treatment goals are tailored to your specific needs, and your treatment plan will be rooted in research-based strategies. Fee The fee is $180 per 50-minute session and sliding scale services are not available at this time. Scheduling To schedule an initial phone consultation please click on the email link Therapy Preparation Set your intentions. What do you want your life to look like after therapy? What are you hoping to accomplish? Do you have specific stressors that you need help approaching differently? Do you want improved communication with your spouse? Better work/life balance? Do you want to reduce your tendency to worry? Asking questions that clarify your intention is a good place to start when preparing for your first session. Additionally, to get the most out of psychotherapy, be open and honest, and follow your agreed upon treatment plan, created in collaboration with your therapist.
